Found in Berks County, PA, this quilt is in a pattern known as WAGON WHEELS. The fabrics are early wool challis and cottons. Probably Mennonite in origin, this quilt has great optics and although some areas are fragile, the strength of the quilt is the graphic. Size: 72 x 81. Age: 1919-1920
Early cotton woven rug measuring 11 feet by 3 feet. Found in Ohio. Excellent Condition with only slight wear at one end. Age: 1890-1920
Made of cotton fabrics in sherbet, spring-like tones, this wall hanging measures 24” square. Although not early, it captures the design pattern of early quilts in ROUND THE WORLD.
Coverlets have both figural and geometric designs. This example of a geometric coverlet is wool and linen and features two seams resulting in a large textile that measures 90” wide. The coverlet displays an intricate weaving pattern. Age of this textile is prior to 1830. Condition is very good with only slight discoloration from age.
Cotton quilt found in Franklin County, PA and is typical of the quilts produced in that area. This textile features plume-type quilting and is finely executed. Size: 71” X 80”.
All cotton quilt features red border with patchwork design and Flying Geese banding. Generous size and perfectly square: 85” x 85” Found in New York State.
Lush tan fabric and Four-Square pattern makes this Pennsylvania Quilt a choice item. Measuring perfectly square at 81”, the vibrant colors reflect the best in quilting that is strong in a geometric horizontal/vertical pattern. Small stiches. Age: 1920-1930
